    PHASE TWO

    Teachers Adjusting Their Teaching


    The second phase of the research focuses on gauging the influence of culturally responsive teaching on students in the intermediate years (Grades 4-8).  These years were identified by the researchers as the most consequential in formulating their views as learners (Lewthwaite & McMillan, 2010).

     

    In this phase, the teachers enacted changes that they individually identified as needing adjustment based upon the qualities of effective practice illustrated in the narratives.
